Being a security guard in South Africa proved to be quite a difficult job after a video of a brazen daylight robbery was shared on social media. The video showed a robbery taking place in a busy parking lot, which was under surveillance.

The video showed a group of two men breaking into a bakkie before a third man jumps out the back of a car parked nearby to help the robbers.
The three then jump back into their car and drive off as a security guard chases after them, Briefly.co.za found.

One Facebook user pointed out that the footage was not recent and was from a previous incident which occurred in Soweto. Nevertheless, South Africans were shocked by the criminals’ audacity and shared their views on crime in Mzansi on social media.

Many users felt that the security company needed security themselves, similarly to how police stations needed private security. Others felt the robbers were taking advantage of the fact that they comprised three men while the security guard was a woman.
Other users felt the security should immediately have pursued them in a vehicle instead of running up behind them as they drove away.
