Black First Land First leader, Andile Mngxitama, vehemently dismissed claims that he tried to rope in the help of legal expert Pierre De Vos. Mngxitama insists that his party will never make use of white lawyers.
Legal expert, Pierre de Vos, claimed on Twitter that Andile Mngxitama, leader of political party, Black First Land First (BLF), approached him for help in a court case.
However, the lawyer says he declined the offer and was called a racist. Mngxitama now insists that de Vos is a liar and that he never asked for help from him.
According to a report by The Daily Sun, Mngxitama went as far as to say that not he, or his party, would ever use white lawyers.
Mngxitama says they would rather represent themselves than ask white lawyers for assistance.
This comes after the Freedom Front Plus took legal action to have BLF banned from this year's elections.
The FF+ withdrew their case, however, because they did not want to risk losing it on a technical point.
We withdrew our case on Friday because we said there is a jurisdictional technical argument that the Electoral Commission is making in their opposing affidavits that can go 50-50, and we feel it is very important that we do not lose this case on a technical argument.
After this, Mngxitama said his party will fight to part of the upcoming elections. He added that the BLF is willing to take up arms if barred from elections, as reported on by Briefly.co.za.
Needless to say, Mzansi appeared to have mixed views on the matter.
