In the three-year-old CNBCAfrica footage, Malema talks about how the contrast between the rich and the poor will cause protests if not addressed, predicting the events currently unfolding in Alexandra today.

He spoke about specifically about the inequalities that exist between the township of Alexandra and the sprawling city of Sandton. His prediction of anarchy seems to have come true as South Africa faces protest action in Alexandra.

"If nothing is done about the inequality in South Africa, we are going to have an unled revolution."
