- Rapulana Seiphemo decided to quit his radio gig last week
- It is said that he quit after being cut from one of his slots and having a disagreement with management
- Vuyo Mthembu, SABC spokesperson, confirmed that Seiphemo has quit, but no details were given
Generations: The Legacy star, Rapulana Seiphemo, who is also a Motsweding FM radio presenter, decided to quit his job as a radio presenter last week.
The SABC has seen a lot of changes in the past year due to budget constraints. They have cut shows, dismissed staff and reduced budgets drastically.
Briefly.co.za learnt that the station decided to cut Seiphemo from one of his two radio shows last week.
Seiphemo joined the Setswana station, Motsweding FM, in April last year. He initially started out as a co-host of the breakfast show on Saturday mornings, as well as hosting the evening show on a Sunday.
According to a source from Motsweding FM, after being left with only one slot and following an apparent disagreement with management, Seiphemo made the decision to resign entirely from the station.
Vuyo Mthembu, SABC spokesperson, confirmed that Seiphemo has indeed resigned as a radio presenter on Motsweding FM.
"The SABC can confirm that Rapulana Seiphemo has resigned, however, we cannot comment on the details of his resignation as this is a matter between the employer and employee," said Mthembu.
It was said that a bunch of listeners had marched to the SABC a week ago, complaining about the SABC having hired people who are not qualified, in their opinion, to do the job; like Seiphemo.
Seiphemo was apparently unavailable to give comment.
