A man learnt a hard lesson about how ruthless social media users can be at fashion faux pas. Twitter user Monareng Lethabo posted a selfie looking for a potential partner but was instead subjected to a vicious roast because of his shoes.
The shoes in question are a pair of very outdated gladiator sandals. Many social media users likened them to the sandals that were worn by Jesus.
The insults were relentless. One social media user said that the shoes were for trampling demons. Another Twitter user, 1Tshepo5, reflected that this is the reason why he never posts any pictures of himself on social media.
Another user took a completely different spin on the jokes by calling them "taxi driver sandals."

Twitter user Melusi Shongwe took the poor man's side, saying:
"At least the guy has a decent roof over his head, goes to the gym add handsome! Women don’t at most don’t know want they want..."
Hopefully Lethabo can find a woman who will look past his fashion sense and love him for who he is.
