It's been a busy time for Kwaito star, Babes Wodumo. Apart from the drama surrounding her and her ex, musician Mampintsha, Babes faces an assault charge along with her sister after allegedly beating a woman at a party.
A warrant of arrest was issued for Babes, her sister, Nondumiso, and fellow musician Tipcee, after they were allegedly involved in the assault of a woman in Umbilo, Durban earlier in March.
The woman had opened a case of assault against Babes and the others allegedly involved.
Babes and her sister were expected to appear in court on 5 April but didn't show up. This resulted in the judge issuing another warrant of arrest, which was granted.
As reported on earlier by Briefly.co.za, Babes and Nondumiso blamed a late-night gig and car problems for their failure to pitch in court.
Speaking to TimesLive, Nondumiso said that they had a late show on Thursday night and had car issues, so they were unable to honour their appearance. She said that their phones were off and her lawyer was unable to reach them.

Babes and Nondumiso appeared in the Durban Magistrate's Court on Monday, 8 April and was found guilty of contempt of court, according to a report by ZAlebs.
The sisters were fined R1 000 bail or 30 days behind bars.
It's not farfetched to believe that the bail was paid and the sisters went home.
