Mzansi showers Msholozi with happy birthday messages as he turns 77

Former president Jacob Zuma turned 77 years old today and Mzansi took to social media to shower him with love. ANC members, BLF members and citizens alike took a moment to wish Msholozi well.

Jacob Zuma is celebrating his 77th birthday today and South Africa has showered him with their affection.

His wives, comrades and supporters took to social media to send him their love. According to The Citizen, Tobeka Madiba Zuma and Nonkanyiso Conco, his wives, shared their happy blessings with their husband on Instagram.

According to The Citizen, today is a double celebration, as Zuma's youngest son, Sakhaumuzi, heralds in his first birthday.

Although there were plenty of happy messages doing the rounds, a leader as controversial as Msholozi could not escape completely unscathed.

There were many tongue-in-cheek messages, such as one from Sphe Masuku, who teased that ANC NEC members were too scared to wish the former president well in fear of losing their seat in Parliament.

Briefly.co.za reported earlier that Cyril Ramaphosa and Jacob Zuma had gotten into somewhat of a spat over the current president's 'nine wasted years' comment in reference to his predecessor.

Zuma had clapped back, adamant that his rule had seen numerous improvements in the lives of many South Africans.

The two ANC leaders are in for a tough month this May, with Ramaphosa fighting to maintain the majority vote in the elections and Zuma facing his corruption trial.
