Mzansi divided over video of mother riding bicycle with baby

Some mothers have to do their utmost to take care of their kids and people do not always agree with their methods. One mother sparked mixed reactions on social media after a video was shared of her riding a bicycle with her baby tied to her back.

On Wednesday, a video was posted online which showed a mother riding on a bicycle with her baby wrapped on her back.

Briefly.co.za could not determine where or when the video was filmed. The footage was posted on social media by Zhiii Mthakathi, who goes by the Twitter handle‏ @Lindani87906306.

"Mother of all time. Let's make her trend," he captioned the video.

The video left social media users divided, with some applauding the mother while others suggested she put her baby's life at risk.

Social media user, @JustinMuvangwa, wrote: "All mothers are metaphorically doing this every single day... Appreciation to all hard working mothers out there."
Another tweep, @maddmaddgenie, added: "Growing up my gran (MHSRIP) used to take me to her work on the back of her bike, just like that! Salute!"

Those who did not agree with the mother's action accused her of putting her baby's life at risk.

Gary Moffat, who goes by the Twitter handle‏ @Gary161718, commented: "Not safe for the baby."
