Paramedic pens open letter to SA politicians to stop blame game

A Johannesburg Fire Department paramedic, Kim Williams, has written an open letter to the politicians in South Africa to stop playing the blame game.

Kim, who works mostly in the townships and squatter camps, said that she felt compelled to write the letter because she has seen how people are suffering, according to SAPeople.com.

In the letter, she says that politicians point fingers at each other while people go hungry.

"When I see our people living in such poverty, hopelessness, kids playing on top of waste dumps, splashing in sewage water…My heart breaks"

She spoke about the conditions she works in and how much suffering she encounters daily.

She also spoke of the amazing resilience in the impoverished communities.

"In the end, we all want the same thing. Our kids to be educated, a job, a roof over our heads, food on the table, health care and dignity."
