A stranger tried to scam Pearl Thusi over WhatsApp via DJ Sbu’s phone

Pearl Thusi shared screenshots of the conversation between her and a person pretending to be DJ Sbu on WhatsApp. While her reaction to the scammer was hilarious, it is worrying how easy these hacks happen.

More and more celebs are being hacked these days, it seems. DJ Tira claimed his Afrotainment business number was hacked just over two weeks ago, and Bonang Matheba's Twitter account was infiltrated roughly a month ago.

Now Pearl Thusi shared her story on how a stranger tried to scam her on WhatsApp using DJ Sbu's number or phone.

Pearl reacted by calling the person a rat and sending them emojis that made it clear what she thought, but she was blocked before they went through.

Whoever was on the other side did not like that she caught on instead of falling for their sneaky attempt at getting money and another artist's number from her.

The person asked for singer Lira's digits, but Pearl claimed to not have them. Thank goodness she's got brains as well as beauty.

Briefly.co.za noticed that the trick this person tried was the same one pulled on Blaklez from Kwesta's hacked WhatsApp account. However, Blaklez was "offered" R90k and Pearl R80k. Guess the hacker is more of a fans of musos than presenters.

Kwesta had to take a break from his honeymoon with his lovely new wife, Yolanda, to let his fans know to ignore messages from his WhatsApp account.
