While his fans are still scratching their heads about his break-up with gorgeous Lady Zamar, Sjava opened up about the strain that being in the limelight has put on his relationship. The musician admitted he was hoping for marriage, but fame put that on hold.
Sjava's fans have been on quite the emotional roller-coaster ride the past week or so. First, they got treated to lovely snaps of him and Lady Zamar, but their joy was short-lived as she was quick to point out that the two of them broke up.
Fans were shocked that the breakup was as recent as March! The two had been together for two years.
Then, a video was shared of the exes in studio, sharing a comfortable, almost cosy vibe. Fans don't know what to expect anymore. They just hope Sjava and Zamar won't go the same route as AKA and DJ Zinhle. It's messy.
Sjava has since opened up about how he hoped to settle down, according to TimesLIVE.
Sjava admitted that he had his heart set on settling down, but being in the limelight affected his relationship.
The musician says it's difficult to make a relationship work when you're famous.
"Yes, I was thinking about it (marriage), but now because of this fame thing, there's now a lot of things to consider. It (fame) has caused a lot of problems between me and my partner.
"For example, if I say, 'Guys I can't come for the interview because I promised my girl a date', you guys will be angry and think I'm unprofessional. If I cancel the date and go to interviews, she'll be mad and not understand.
"So now, either way, I'm a bad guy. All those things take something away from me as a person but you will never see that. But at the end of the day, it is what it is."
Briefly.co.za learnt that despite being disappointed that his love-life isn't working out, he will not let his career take a backseat.
He wants to provide for his mother and honour his talent.
It's admirable of Sjava to sacrifice love like that, and we hope he finds true happiness soon.
