A Kind Samaritan, who asked to remain anonymous, visited the Las Vegas Spur in East London after he heard about Xolani Mbalo's story. The 24-year-old received a R4 tip 'for the hungry Africans' from a group of racially-abusive teens.

So, the local traveller decided to visit the same Spur earlier the month to give Mbalo a proper tip. The man left the information technology development graduate a R4,444 tip.

However, Mbalo was not on shift the day he visited the restaurant, so he left the money with his manager.

Times LIVE reported the kind man also left a note with the manager, which read:

"Xolani, I’m sorry that I was not able to meet you. Please accept this small tip of R4,444 'for hungry Africans'. Because what this country needs more of is hungry Africans. Hungry for knowledge. Hungry for justice. Hungry for hope. Hungry to know that they are seen, known and valued."

Briefly.co.za previously reported a waiter at Las Vegas Spur in East London, Eastern Cape, has opened a case of crimen injuria against a group of teenage customers who racially abused him.

The teenagers, who were white, tipped him R4 and wrote, “The R4 is for hungry Africans” on the receipt. The waiter also claims they laughed and made comments as they were served, including offering him leftover chips because he looked 'hungry’.
