The ANC has revealed that they caught members of the official opposition party, the Democratic Alliance, removing ANC election posters in Midrand, Johannesburg.
The ruling party released a statement on their social media pages noting the incident with "disgust".
"These dirty and underhanded tactics undermine the spirit of Free and Fair Elections that the DA always purport to be champions of, while knowingly trampling on and making a mockery of our democracy"
They accused the DA of trampling on basic rights of the people they govern.
Social media users expressed shock at the incident with Khadjo Daphney Sehata saying:
"I'm still going to vote for my ANC"
Jabulani Seeko agreed:
"Poster or no poster on the 8 May I'll vote the ANC in to power others they can go and look for the strong muthi for me to vote for them amandla khongolosi"
