Vendor caught on video scamming woman: "Don't buy from the streets"

A street vendor has been caught on video scamming a woman who was making a purchase from him. Mzansi took to social media to share their reactions to the disturbing video.

In the video footage, the woman is seen buying a clothing item. The vendor packs the item into a black plastic bag and closes it tightly. In a very quick motion, he moves the bag behind him, where someone standing close by swaps the plastic bag with another. The woman, who did not notice the change, unknowingly leaves with the wrong plastic bag.

Mzansi social media users were both shocked and amused by the incident.

MaThabi Mydarly Matwa said:

"Don't buy from the streets again."

Mgayi Manyike pointed out that this scam has probably been going on for a while:

"Then immediately change their location and continue their scam elsewhere. Indeed it is true what they say about business - location location location."

Facebook user Ntsholeng Mabele shared a story about a similar incident that happened to him:

"I bought 8 bananas for R10, the guy gave me the extra banana which is equals to 9... to my surprise when I got home they were only 5. I was livid and I thought these people used magic on people only to find out it was tricks."
