The KwaZulu-Natal and Eastern Cape provinces have been plagued with storms this week, some areas being hit harder than others.
Posts about the severe weather conditions in KwaZulu-Natal and EC flooded social media on Tuesday morning.
The footage shows the devastating aftermath of floods and mudslides, which have so far claimed 23 lives, have reported.
The KwaZulu-Natal Cooperative Governance Department has confirmed that 23 people have lost their lives, and added that rescue teams have been deployed to the areas most affected by the storm.
"The MEC and the mayor are leading the team in the areas and doing assessments. It is still raining and the weather has not improved. Government has to be out there to assist the people at this time. Sixty percent rainfall and gale force winds are on the way... we are having our hands full," KZN Cooperative Governance Department's Lennox Mabaso said.

TV reporter Dasen Thathiah shared a video of a home that collapsed in Malvern.
"A closer look at the collapsed house in Malvern. Neighbours say three children may still be trapped under the rubble. Rescue workers are expected to return here this morning after working through the night. #DurbanFloods," he captioned the post.
Bantu Holomisa shared photos of the storm's aftermath in Port St Johns, in the Eastern Cape.
