Former president Thabo Mbeki was the topic of discussion yesterday after he campaigned for the ANC at the Rand Show.
He encouraged people for vote for the party in the coming elections. However, Mbeki has been notably silent until now and this caused many to question why he was suddenly speaking up.
Mbeki said that it had been difficult for him to campaign while Zuma was still the president of the movement because he knew that "wrong things were happening". He said he now believes that the party is healing.
These comments left a mixed reaction with many. Others were happy to see him back at the forefront of the ANC while others were left with a bitter taste over his divisive words.
