A family has taken to social media to thank two road construction workers for helping them after their car broke down.
Iloma Marais shared the story of how their car's ignition broke just south of Smithfield in the middle of nowhere, 150km from their home. The woman, her husband and two dogs were stranded in the freezing rainy weather until two road workers assisted them.
The workers, Theresa and Berry, treated the family with kindness and helped them find a tow truck. They also assisted with re-directing traffic around their stationary car.
The family said that they are forever grateful to the two women for showing them what a rainbow nation is truly about.
