Charlize Theron told the Daily Mail that her son told her at 3 years old that he was a girl. She said she now has two daughters.

"Yes, I thought she was a boy, too. Until she looked at me when she was three years old and said: 'I am not a boy!'
"So there you go! I have two beautiful daughters who, just like any parent, I want to protect and I want to see thrive."

IOL News reported that Steve Hofmeyr, South African musician, doesn't agree with Charlize's parenting choices and commented on it on Twitter.

Steve directed a tweet at the South African-born Hollywood actress.

"Dear Charlize, my daughter sometimes wears pants. She is 20 months old. Is it perhaps the right time to ask her if she feels a balance of y-chromosome?"

This tweet by Steve got mixed reactions. Some of his fans agreed with him and joined in insulting Charlize, while others felt the comment was transphobic.

Briefly.co.za noticed that the Pampoen singer later tried to explain why he made his remark towards Charlize.

"Yes, I get this. But the trans debate is uncharted. We're all learning. We are speculating, in fact. Tolerance is good. My only problem is asking 3-year-olds about it. Ultimately, I don't care how you foster kids. Nobody's business."
