The people of Mzansi can be so cruel! The official Mr. South Africa social media page was forced to delete their post after they uploaded a picture of the competition's semi finalist. South African social media users had no mercy as they commented on how unattractive everyone on the poster looked.
Mr. South Africa's Twitter page posted a face pics of the finalists and did not quite get the reaction they expected. Many responded to the post in amusement while others were plain rude. The admin of the account attempted to clap back at the trolls but once the onslaught got too much, the post was deleted.
At the center of the noise was the fact that no one in the picture looked attractive. Many agreed that the men chosen would embarrass the country when competing on an international level.
Others took the opportunity to photo shop the original picture with a police mug shots.
Twitter user Thembinkosi said:
"The Mr South Africa finalists looks like a “Wanted” poster of escaped prisoners"
Former Mr. South Africa, Armand Du Plessis, also had stinging words for the competition:
"As a former Mr. South Africa; it is sad to see how the quality of this competition has drastically declined over the past few years. As much as #MrSouthAfrica has changed my life, it’s an embarrassment to be now associated with the competition"
