South Africa's self-proclaimed 'Queen of Kwaito', Mshoza, isn't very happy that she hasn't received any rewards during her more than 20 years in the music industry. Now she's hoping for a Grammy sometime in the future.
Singer Mshoza isn't pleased with the fact that she hasn't been on the receiving end of any rewards after she's been doing her thing on the music scene for over 20 years.
The self-proclaimed Queen of kwaito took to social media to bemoan this fact and say that she's hoping for a Grammy award.
It's so funny today I am over 20 years in the industry and we are celebrating 25 years of democracy. I hope to get a Grammy one day since no accolade received from my people here at home.
Briefly.co.za noticed that Mshoza jokingly added that the last time she won anything was back in the 'township stokvels' days, so it's clear she's not bitter, just feeling underappreciated.
ZAlebs reports Mshoza explained that awards are not her motivation, but it does hurt that she's never been honoured for her contribution.
But she's staying positive and holding out for that Grammy. In the meantime, she appreciates all the love and admiration she receives from her loyal fans.
