Actress Phumzile Sitole had to clear the air after the ANC shared a snap on social media of her voting. She's based in the US and was happy to vote, but said it doesn't serve as an endorsement for the ANC.
South African actress, Phumzile Sitole, is based in the US, and she was happy to share with her fans that she took the time to vote in the 2019 elections as an expat.
Phumzile stars in American TV show Orange is The New Black and is making Mzansi proud.
Briefly.co.za reported earlier that almost 30 000 ex-patriot South Africans took time to vote over the weekend and Phumzile was one of them.
However, that does not mean she can be used in SA's political party's election campaigning, as she made clear in a tweet.
TimesLIVE reported that the ANC used her 'voting snap' in a Twitter post, using several hashtags to promote voting for the ruling party.
Phumzile noticed, and decided to set things straight:
"Yes I voted... but this is NOT a party endorsement for ANC."
