Mzansi reacts to attempt to have old SA flag declared hate speech

The Equality Court heard the Nelson Mandela Foundation's arguments in their bid to have the old South African Flag banned. Very quickly one thing became abundantly clear when Mzansi caught wind of the legal battle: People want the flag outlawed.

The Nelson Mandela Foundation wants the old South African flag outlawed and appeared before the Equality Court to achieve just that.

Briefly.co.za reported that the foundation's application had been opposed by AfriForum, who stated that freedom of expression should be protected.

However, South Africans took to social media to express their views on the matter and it became very clear that the majority felt the topic wasn't worth debating and that the flag was a remnant of the old apartheid era and should be dealt with accordingly.
