Mzansi rapper and producer, Cassper Noyvest scored an impressive nomination at the upcoming Net Honours in Nigeria, boosting his international recognition massively.
The award show recognises the phenomenal efforts of people across all industries in Africa. The #NetHonours show is the Nigerian version of the People’s Choice awards, a media-led show that represents the views of the people. By the looks of things, including his nomination, Cassper has a big influence in Nigeria.
Cassper is nominated in the 'Most Popular African Celebrity' award category alongside Sarkodie and Juliet from Ghana, Diamond Platnumz from Tanzania and Victoria Kimani from Kenya.
When Cassper learned of his nomination, he took to Twitter to boast and wrote: “Oh we popular like that now? Alright!”
Four days ago, Briefly.co.za reported that Cassper Nyovest made it very clear that he would not be submitting his work for the SAMAs in the future but the Mzanzi rapper's name still made it onto the nominations list for this year.
Mufasa stopped submitting his music for considering at the awards after his hit track, Doc Shebelez, was not nominated for Song of the Year back in 2015. However after a long debate with his team last year, Cassper decided he did not need a SAMA to prove his worth as an artist.
He stood firm to his decision two months ago, even though award organisers tried to twist his arm into changing his mind.
Meanwhile, two days ago, Briefly.co.za also reported that Cassper Nyovest, popular local musician, is well-known for singing his own praises. This time around, the SA celeb went back to a Tweet from 2014 and gave himself kudos for coming so far.
In the past post, Cassper complained about how the only time South African stars get to perform with “good sound” is when international artists come to perform in the country.
In his reply, the Mzansi muso built himself up, saying:“And you changed all of that!!!”
