A video has surfaced on social media which showed a man destroying his DStv satellite dish in a bid to boycott MultiChoice.
On Tuesday, Twitter parody account Man's Not Barry Roux posted a video on the social media platform which showed a man destroying a DStv satellite dish while another Afrikaans-speaking man films the incident.
The man who filmed the destruction of the DStv equipment was heard saying they supported Steve Hofmeyr and Afrikaans.
"I don't like it to give them (MultiChoice) money anymore. You see. If they want to destroy our land and our language then we will no longer pay," he added.
The video sparked quite the reaction and man tweeps made fun of the people in the video's actions.
The video followed MultiChoice's decision to actively avoid airing any content featuring the singer.
MultiChoice's DStv service will no longer give controversial Afrikaans singer Steve Hofmeyr public exposure by airing content he appears in on DStv or any other channels like kykNET, according to Channel24.
However, the singer clapped back at MultiChoice. Earlier, Briefly.co.za reported Hofmeyr is apparently disappointed with MultiChoice and its decision to stop airing any content that features him.
He said he voted for a new South Africa to free artists from this kind of 'censorship'.
