For more than two decades, a man and his family waited for a RDP house that was promised to them by the ANC. However, until this day, they lived in a two-bedroom shack.
Dibapalo Boy Mohedo, a 100-year-old man, has been waiting on the government for 22 years to fulfill their promise of building him a RDP house.
Local businessman Collen Mashawana heard about the madala's story and decided to help him.
Taking to social media, Mashawana wrote:
"Dibapalo Boy Mohedo is 100 years old. He lives in a two-roomed shack in an informal settlement with his wife, Johanna Tsibande, and their orphaned grandchildren, aged 10 and 13. The couple have been waiting for an RDP house for 22 years."
"His ID shows his birth date is February 24, 1919. We visited the family and asked for a month to build them a new home. Their living condition will change to the best. #afribizhousingappeal #collenmashawanafoundation."
The story inspired social media users, who praised Mashawana for helping the madala and his family.
Edzani Raaloe commented: "Continue doing the Lord's work."
Malise Elias Mafutha added: "May God extend your helping hand Mr Mashawana."
Brandon Tshabangu wrote: "Inspiration you are."
Elekanyani Happy Sididzha said: "Great things, God bless."
