Video shared online allegedly shows ANC supporters assaulting man

A pro-EFF Twitter account has published a video which they claim shows ANC supporters assault EFF supporters.

The clip shows several men in what appears to be yellow ANC t-shirts kicking and punching another man.

Neither the ANC nor EFF has yet officially commented on the clip.

With just days until the 2019 elections, political parties have been in full campaign mode. The ANC, EFF and DA are all set to hold major rallies over the weekend in a final push to mobilise voters.

This campaigning has led to some tensions, however. Politicians from various parties have routinely lashed out at one another.

However, a video shared a Twitter account called EFFJoziGroundForces allegedly shows some ANC supporters escalating this tension to physical violence. The video shows men dressed in yellow assaulting another man.

The account claimed that the men in the video are "ANC thugs".

It not yet been confirmed, however, whether the men in the video are in fact ANC supporters. Similarly, no explanation has been given for what they assaulted the man in the clip.
