DJ Shimza makes no secret of his support for the ruling party, but his latest praises for the ANC had fans wondering if he was paid to speak at the party's Siyanqoba event. He credited his success to the ANC.
DJ Shimza is a proud supporter of the ANC and recently showed his loyalty again when he spoke at the party's Siyanqoba event on Thursday, 2 May.
The muso said he owes his success to the ANC and the opportunities the government has given him, according to TimesLIVE.
"I know that if it was any other political party, it would be very difficult for me to achieve some of my vision. They are helping me create what I feel can be one of the biggest things in South Africa... If it was still 19-something, we would be ducking teargas and stuff. But now we are free and can do what we want, and believe in."
The ANC was so happy with what Shimza said, they shared a video of his speech on social media.
But not everyone is convinced about the sincerity of Shimza's words. Some people feel he was paid to praise the ruling party as part of their election campaign.
This isn't the first time Shimza got dragged for showing his support for the ANC.
Briefly.co.za reported that he received heavy backlash from tweeps after he commended President Ramaphosa in his efforts to attract investors so that the youth can get employment.
