Finding a wallet loaded with cash and returning it sounds like the right thing to do, but few people actually do the right thing. When a local man used Twitter to try and find the owner of a loaded wallet, Mzansi was impressed.
South Africans were left in awe when a man took to Twitter to try and find the owner of a wallet - complete with its money and cards.
In these trying times, the temptation to take the money and toss the wallet is a big one, but there are still very good, honest people out there.
The man, Twitter user @Thabang2308, shared a snap of the wallet and asked tweeps to retweet until they find the owner, who can be identified by the ID card in it.
Guys I found a wallet next to Maponya Dube Shoprite in Soweto, it has R500, two driver's license and Capitec Bank Card. His name is S Sangweni. He must be staying around Dube, Meadowlands, Mofolo and Orlando West. Please retweet until we find the owner.
Briefly.co.za learnt that the man has since approached Capitec Bank for help, but hasn't been successful yet.
South Africans couldn't help but compliment @Thabang2308 for doing something that very few people would do.
