Twitter user UnmovedLee responded to Ramaphosa's post with:

"There are millions of of reasons NOT to vote ANC... millions! They are called poor, jobless and landless black people. They matter most of all. You neglected the people you claim to have liberated. You are corrupt and selfish. A killer of workers has no moral standing."

Another user named Mafiwa2 was also in agreement, saying:

"A reason not to vote ANC, you have more than a year in office but you are clueless. You talk in circles in very broad terms. Whoever believes you is doomed."

Twitter seemed to be schooling Ramaphosa on the failures of his political party as another social media user named Armston Taka said:

"Mr president there are more reasons not to #VoteANC, #ANC kept quiet when foreigners came to our continent and killed Gadaffi and others. For 3 years #ANC as @_AfricanUnion has been quiet on the genocide in #SouthernCameroon and now you stopping #UN from discussing it #Shame."

Another user named Mora Mthonyama questioned why it took them so long to address the concerns of the people.

"Why does it take elections for our leaders to show their face to the most important stakeholders, the ordinary citizens? You guys are all about talking and no actions!"

There were a few who were on the president's side, however. Kabelo Mokgati said:

"We will #VoteANC8May2019"
