Gigi Lamayne had South Africa's very first one-woman show in Africa and Kwaito star, Mshoza, was very happy to show her support by taking the stage to wow the crowd. Mshoza is very proud of Gigi.
Before she took to the stage to give an epic performance, Kwaito musician Mshoza, who has been in the industry for many years, was quite emotional.
Mshoza was on the stage at the Elkah Stadium in Soweto for Gigi LaMayne's Gigi Gang Show and felt very proud her.
Gigi was the first SA female hip-hop muso to host a one-woman show on the African continent, as reported on by TimesLIVE.
The show not only showed off Gigi's talent but also celebrated women in hip-hop.
Mshoza feels that women in the industry must stand together, especially since the hip-hop scene is dominated by men.
"The industry is small and is dominated by men, but as women, we need to come through for each other. We also need to let go of the fear of making things happen."
She really is super proud of Gigi.
"I am so proud that Gigi initiated this. I almost cried just before I took the stage. If this is to continue for much longer, then we will have won as women in music, we will be taken seriously."
Briefly.co.za noticed that Gigi was touched by Mshoza's support and thanked her on social media.
