- The player exodus at Kaizer Chiefs is continuing with midfielder, Bhongolwethu Jayiya, the latest one to head for the exit door
- This follows the departures of Hendrick Ekstein, Gustavo Paez, Virgil Vries and Kgotso Malope
- Jayiya joined Chiefs in 2017 from Cape Town City, but has only featured 6 times this season
Briefly.co.za previously reported on Kaizer Chiefs parting ways with 3 prominent players in Hendrick Ekstein, Gustavo Paez, and Kgotso Malope.
The player exodus hasn’t stopped there with Virgil Vries leaving and now Bhongolwethu Jayiya has been added to that list.
The 29-year-old midfielder has only been at Naturena for two seasons, but has been deemed surplus to requirements.
Jayiya signed from Cape Town City in 2017, but has not been able to cut the mustard since joining.
Briefly.co.za gathered that he’s only featured six times in all competitions this season.
The termination forms part of an overhaul within the Amakhosi as they gear up for next season.
Kick Off confirmed that Chiefs have released a whopping 37 players over the last three years.
