Voting results are coming in from across South Africa, and according to the numbers in the North West province, the Economic Freedom Fighters have seen a lot of growth since the last elections in 2014.
Julius Malema and the Economic Freedom Fighters must be smiling from ear-to-ear as a report by EWN indicates that the party has seen a huge growth in numbers in the North West province since the elections of 2014.
Voting results are trickling in, and at present the African National Congress is in the lead, followed by the Democratic Alliance and the EFF.
According to EWN's report, about 33% of the North West votes have been counted and the red berets are seeing good numbers.
Papiki Babuile, the EFF's North West secretary, stated that his party is very pleased with the results at present.
“It shows that the EFF is growing. The people of the North West have confidence in the EFF. If you compare these results with the last result, it shows significant growth."
Meanwhile, Briefly.co.za gathered that the DA is apparently also excited as they believe they have won premier candidate, Joe McGluwa's home ward from the currently-ruling party.
The DA has expressed concern over (among other things) the IEC's handheld scanners failing at voting stations, but according to McGluwa, the party knows there was a budget to stick to.
