The EFF has taken to social media to re-share their mandate of fighting for free education. The party is currently trailing third in the results of the national government elections and Mzansi social media users couldn't resist taking the opportunity to rub some salt in their wounds.
The official EFF Twitter page posted the following:
"We are fighting for free, quality and decolonised education. We want our people to be proud of the number of graduates and jobs produced rather than the number of social grant recipients."
But the real spice was found in the comments underneath the post. Trolls had a field day poking fun at the fact that the party did not dent the ANC or DA votership.
Twitter user Sogayise2 said:
"Yeah but those educated ones don't queue to vote, they are watching TV and chatting online. SASSA recipients live in a real world because they vote for real."
While JustDeezle said:
"Limpopo is showing EFF dust, didn't vote for him... so much for the Son of the Soil."
Bongani Dlamini added:
"You are only growing on Twitter, you must do ground work."
There were a few who showed support for the Reds and their stance on education with Twitter user Thulasizwenkos1 being one of them:
"For as long the EFF exists, I will forever be loyal without expecting any self-enrichment. LONG! LIVE! EFF! LONG! LIVE!"
