Mamelodi Sundowns coach, Pitso Mosimane, is not one to mince his words.

He generally shoots straight from the hip and this time, Percy Tau was the topic of discussion.

The outspoken coach revealed that Tau’s move to the Belgian second division doesn’t make much sense to him.

A bemused Mosimane asked, “What is he doing there?”

Tau was transferred to English Premiership side Brighton and Hove Albion and many thought it was the start of big things.

Unfortunately, the EPL side loaned out the Bafana Bafana star to Royale Union Saint-Gilloise in Belgium.

SowetanLIVE reported that Mosimane believes Tau would have been better served playing for Sundowns in the Caf Champions League.

Mosimane remains sceptical whether Tau would have grown as a player from a tactical perspective.

The Downs coach said, "I am not saying it is a step back because there are positives but on the tactical side ....I think it’s tougher here.”

He added, "That division aaai really‚ who is he playing against?”

The silver lining is that Tau’s form hasn’t dipped since the move and he’s still expected to play a crucial role for Bafana at Afcon 2019.

Brighton and Hove Albion play their final fixture in the EPL on Sunday, having just avoided relegation.

Tau will be hoping he’ll be competing against some of the best players in England by the time next season starts.
