100% of votes counted, ANC wins Gauteng by tiny margin

In a surprising turn of events, the ANC have won leadership of Gauteng, securing the province with 50.19% of votes. This means that the DA may lose leadership of Gauteng, after having control over this area for the last 5 years.

The final tallying of votes are in from the IEC and the data shows that the African National Congress (ANC) will be in charge of the Western Cape for the following term.

For the last 5 years, the Gauteng has been run by the Democratic Alliance (DA).

Even though the ANC are not permitted to announce the win yet, the final results show that they have control over Gauteng.

However, Briefly.co.za understands that the data has yet to be finalised, hence parties not being able to announce the results as they currently stand.

The IEC are scheduled to officially announce the SA Election results for 2019 at 6pm tonight.
