A couple months back everyone was up-in-arms with regards to the alleged assault against Babes Wodumo by her boyfriend Mampintsha. There has been speculation that Babes has dropped the charges but it has recently been stated that the NPA has said that Babes will be appearing, as planned, in Pinetown Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.

The charge against Mampintsha was after a video went viral showing him physical abusing Babes. He was consequently arrested and received bail of R2 000. Shortly after his release, the musician in-turn laid a charge of assault against Babes herself.

Briefly.co.za learnt that in an interview with TshiaLIVE last week, Lindo Buthelezi, Mampintsha’s manager, reassured fans that the couple have reunited and that Mampintsha has dropped charges against Babes.

As far as the charges against Mampintsha are concerned, we are still unsure as Buthelezi declined to pass comment. However, a source gave information to Sunday Sun that Babes is intended to drop the charges.

According to Nastasha Kara, NPA spokesperson, says there are not aware of any such developments in the case.

Kara said that all the media reports have been noted but Babes has not giving any indication to withdraw the charges nor has she said that she has already done so. So as far as the NPA are concerned things will go as scheduled and Mampintsha will be appearing in court on Wednesday.

Should Babes want to withdraw the charges, Kara said that she will have to notify to the court on Wednesday with exactly what her intentions are. Kara added that they will be attending the court hearing on Wednesday and will find out then.

Breaking her silence, Babes replied to an Instagram user’s comment, which accused Babes of mocking survivors of abuse with taking Mampintsha back. Babes reaction was to tell the writer not to stick her nose into her business!
