A 17-year-old girl took a long shot after she spotted a Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon and left a note on the windscreen, asking the owner if she could use the luxury car for her matric farewell.
Zayan Abrahams saw a G-class Mercedes in Claremont, Cape Town, and decided to take a chance by asking the owner if she could use it for her matric dance.
However, because the luxury car was parked and she had no idea who it belonged to, Abrahams wrote a random note and stuck on the windscreen.
Little did she know the car had a famous owner. Briefly.co.za gathered the G-Wagon belonged to Proteas star Dale Steyn.
"I just tore a piece of paper out of my book and stuck it on the windscreen. I had no idea that it was his car," she said.
Times LIVE reported that Steyn not only let Abrahams use his car, he chauffeured her and her date, Cody Waldegrave, to the Bergvliet High School matric farewell.
"He was a very nice guy, really down-to earth. He spoke with us and was very sweet,” she said.
