Briefly.co.za asked our readers to comment on what President Cyril Ramaphosa should do to improve the nation.
With unemployment sky high, a struggling education system and excessive corruption, the list of problem areas seem never ending.
However, our readers weren’t shy to tackle the issues head on and suggested where the president should start.
More than 100 people responded and we’ve shared some of the insightful comments here.
Some comments were very particular about the required changes.
It was also clear that South Africans have little confidence in the current cabinet.
Mbongi Archie Lamfiti said, “Fix the unemployment crisis and corruption on these government officials.”
Jullia Mokoana added: “New cabinet ministers. Close the borders. More employment for graduates. Zero corruption. Pay attention to the people in the rural areas.”
Margaret Stoltz said, “Get rid of his whole cabinet. Put younger educated people in who can serve the nation.”
Kholiwe Mnyande suggested, “Arrest anc thieves, the likes of magashule.”
Meena Naidoo commented, “Control the increase in human population in SA. Future families should have 1 or 2 max of children. Decrease the population no, then there will be increase in jobs, less demand for more houses, less crime, more place in tertiary institutions for studying etc.”
Mpume Mtshali said, “ I would like to see the cabinet lessened to half, SAA sold because it work at a loss, Eskom having competition becoz now they do as they please, job creation.”
Sharon Versfeld said, “Jail corrupt ministers, death penalty ,improve schooling ,higher grades ,create jobs.”
