Yanga Sobetwa stole South Africans' hearts when she won Idols SA in 2018. Since then, the young songbird has been working hard and she dropped her debut album, Promised Land, earlier this month.
After winning Idols SA, Yanga Sobetwa chose to go a different direction than expected. She decided that she would like to make a name for herself in gospel music instead of following in previous winners’ footsteps by going into pop music.
Since she stole so many hearts on the reality show, she has been hard at work to prove she's not going to fade away after earning fame by winning the show.
Yanga dropped her debut album, Promised Land, earlier in May and it's doing very well, according to ZAlebs.
Yanga's second single, also titled Promised Land, features Amanda Black and the Soweto Gospel Choir and did fantastic - it reached number 1 on iTunes.
TshisaLive reported that Yanga said her song is inspired by harmony, peace and nation-building and makes her feel like she is spreading a message of hope.
Briefly.co.za gathered that Yanga is in the process of doing interviews for her album's publicity.
Congratulations Yanga! Here's to many more successful album releases.
