The Democratic Alliance experienced a drop in votes during the 2019 elections and South Africans reveal where they feel Mmusi Maimane went wrong.
The Democratic Alliance (DA) leader, Mmusi Maimane, has been in the firing line of late.
Briefly.co.za reported on the speculation surrounding Maimane’s future and the DA’s decision to retain his services.
However, South Africans have begun to open up on where they feel Maimane and company went wrong with this election campaign.
Maimane has accepted responsibility for the drop in support, but the party still expressed full confidence in him.
TimesLIVE reported on the feedback shared via social media in the form of a video montage.
Some still hold the view that the DA is merely using Maimane as a front, but that the party doesn’t represent the interests of black South Africans.
Others feel that Maimane focused his strategy too much on slandering the ANC instead of giving voters reasons to vote for the DA.
Nevertheless, Maimane will remain the party’s leader until the decision is reviewed in 2021.
