Protests rock Durban and Pietermaritzburg - key routes blocked

KwaZulu-Natal has been reduced to what resembles a battlefield overnight, with multiple protests in two major cities. Both Pietermaritzburg and Durban are being subjected to the full wrath of riled citizens, with obstructed roads and burning tyres bringing things to a standstill.

Durban and Pietermaritzburg have been hit with multiple protests, reducing the region to a scene out of a battle.

Traffic has been brought to a standstill along major routes, with roads being obstructed by the protesters.

In the Bayhead region, the trucking community is protesting for better working conditions and a guarantee that they will be safe behind the wheel, reports The South African.
