No one is safe from sneaky scammers, not even our local celebs. Idols winner, Paxton Fielies, returned from a trip to Sweden to find that after her family got scammed out of almost R800k, a supporter came to their rescue.
Paxton Fielies, 2017 Idols SA winner, returned from her gig at The World Children's Prize in Sweden to some really good news.
She and her family planned renovations to their home and paid R800 000 to a contractor who reportedly then took off, leaving them with a leaky home.
IOL News reports that a very generous and kind-hearted supporter, who is also a contractor, has come to their rescue and offered to help finish the renovations.
Paxton is very grateful for the support she's been getting from fans and now this contractor.
"I'm happy with how things have worked out, this situation had the potential to be extremely heartbreaking for me and my family.
"But we are so grateful for the outcome and I'm so happy for the people that have shown us so much love and even more for the offer to help that came forth."
Briefly.co.za gathered that Paxton's family planned to take legal action against the person who they claim scammed them.
The singer is just glad her mother can now let go of all the stress caused by the whole thing.
"My mother was so happy after meeting with the Strand builder and it looks promising. We are just extremely grateful and happy."
