Man's outfit at graduation shows sad reality of unemployment in SA

South Africans were touched by photos of a student who wore an overall to his graduation with a sign that read: "Unemployed graduate".

Statistics South Africa reported that the country’s unemployment rate has risen to its highest level since the third quarter of 2017.

Sadly, these statistics affect graduates as well. A woman, who was identified simply by her Twitter handle @ngingumzulu, shared several photos of a man who took a stand at his graduation.

"He wore this outfit to attend his graduation ceremony today. Education is no longer the key to success, corruption is. #Unemployment," the photos were captioned.

Briefly.co.za saw the photos touched the hearts of South Africans, who felt sorry for the students who graduated just to sit without a job.

Leuba Ramakadi, who goes by the Twitter handle‏ @Leuba19, commented: "Eish this is heartbreaking and seeing him with the same qualifications as me makes it even worse. Unemployment is real and depressing."
