- EFF leader, Julius Malema, had a fiery exchange with the French journalist at a press briefing on Thursday
- The journalist asked Malema if the EFF had to be more mindful of racial tensions within the country
- Juju struck back by claiming that no racial tensions exist in SA, but that they do in France
A French journalist learnt that Julius Malema is a master at fighting fire with fire at a press briefing on Thursday.
The reporter asked Malema if the EFF should assume more responsibility for racial tensions within the country in light of them being the third-most popular party in the nation.
The EFF leader didn’t take kindly to the question and struck back.
Juju said, “There are no tensions in South Africa but there is in France. No-one from here ever came to your country and said these things. You are living an imaginary life. You are imagining these tensions. You are dreaming of this. We’ve never perpetuated hatred.”
The South African reported that Malema also cited the fact that the South African Human Rights Commission cleared the EFF of hate speech and claimed that the party diffuses tensions.
Briefly.co.za understands that Juju claims that his controversial statements are not made with malicious intent.
However, he made it clear that the EFF does not apologise for wanting to end white supremacy.
