Popular radio and TV sports presenter, Robert Marawa, was given the boot by SuperSport and now it is rumoured that his dismissal had something to do with a 'sexual harassment' cover-up. Robert hinted at that much on social media.
Robert Marawa, one of South Africa's most popular TV and radio sports presenters, has been shown the door by SuperSport.
He took to social media to share the unfortunate news and added that he had been informed via a text message.
However, that is not all that Robert had to say. The presenter didn't come out and say it, but he hinted at there being more to the termination of his contract than meets the eye.
Robert took to Twitter in the early morning hours to say that there's an amazing story to be told. The Citizen reports the 'mafia' that he talks about in his tweet refers to SuperSport.
When a fan asked why Robert is up so late, he talked about 'people who are guilty of sexual harassment'.
Briefly.co.za gathered that parody Twitter account, @AdvBarryRoux, seems to think he knows exactly what's going on.
According to him, a certain TV director would ask for sexual favours from new presenters in return for more time on air and promotions. He also said Robert and others tried to expose the problem, but were intimidated by higher-ups.
There is no proof to back up these accusations and they are treated as rumours at this point.
