- The taxi driver then singled out Taka Tina, telling him that he must now pay the R13 owed by the other passenger
Local social media users were divided recently over a story of an unconventional taxi ride.
South African Twitter influencer, known as Taka Tina, posted about how a taxi driver wanted him to personally settle the debt of another passenger, after the man was not able to pay his fare.
Taka Tina explained how the taxi he was travelling in picked up someone new en route, who promised he would pay the R13 owed to the taxi driver for his fare.
The new passenger subsequently had what appeared to be a seizure and was therefore unable to find the money to pay his debt.
The taxi driver then tried to make Taka Tina come up with the missing R13 for the trip.
While some social media users were confused by the situation, others were convinced that Taka Tina should have just paid the amount.
However, the Twitter influencer was adamant that the new passenger was not really ill and that the ‘seizure’ took place after he looked in his wallet for the R13.
Briefly.co.za found that many simply found the unfortunate situation hilarious.
