Former President Jacob Zuma is back in court today, attempting to have his corruption charges dismissed. Despite the sensitivity of the situation, his supporters have promised to stick with him every step of the way.
Facing charges of fraud, corruption, racketeering and money-laundering would have left most devoid of their supporters, but not Jacob Zuma.
Briefly.co.za reported earlier that Zuma would be appearing this week in the Pietermaritzburg High Court, attempting to have his corruption charges permanently dropped.
Supporters have been trickling in since the early hours of this morning, highlighting the strong support the former ANC head enjoys.
KwaZulu-Natal supporters have faithfully stood behind the politician since his first appearance in 2018.
They are back at it today, with Zuma expected to address them after wrapping up his appearance in court.
The former president previously told supporters that there was a political conspiracy against him, revealing that he was unhappy with some in the ANC who treated him as if he had already been found guilty, reports Eyewitness News.
The Umkhonto we Sizwe Miltary Veterans Association is expected to lead today's march. One supporter says that they will stand by Zuma's side until the courts have cast a guilty verdict.
Some ANC leaders are expected to accompany Zuma to today's proceedings, with his son Duduzane Zuma already on the scene.
