Bafana Bafana coach, Stuart Baxter, has confirmed his squad for the 2019 African Cup of Nations in Egypt.
The coach included a few surprise selections and some were rewarded for fine form this season.
Orlando Pirates midfielder, Ben Motshwari, was one of them.
Although he hasn’t featured in the qualifying matches, Motshwari has performed admirably for the Buccaneers this season.
Another midfielder selected was Maritzburg United’s Fortune Makaringe, who enjoyed a promising spell for his club in the latter part of the season.
Kickoff.com reported that Nikola Tavares and Joel Unteresee were included as well, but are awaiting approval for documentation.
Baxter still has time before having to trim the squad down to 23 – which has to be done ten days prior to the tournament.
Bafana are set to depart for Egypt on 12 June and have been drawn with Ivory Coast, Morocco and Namibia.
