The 25th South African Music Awards will take place in the North West and will not only celebrate the hottest musicians of the year, but also honour those who came before them and paved the way for new artists.

The SAMAs will recognise HHP, TKZee and Mango Groove for their years of work put into the music industry.

According to TimesLIVE, HHP's firsts will be celebrated - everything from him being the first rapper to use a Kwaito beat to being the first artist to successfully have multiple sync deals.

Mango Groove has been in the music world for 35 years and will be honoured for their immense contribution to Mzansi music.

Briefly.co.za gathered that TKZee - with members Kabelo Mabalane, Zwai Bala and Tokollo Tshabalala - will receive recognition for being South Africa's best-selling Kwaito band.

It's awesome to see local legend being celebrated and given credit where it is most certainly due.
