We asked our readers who they want to see as the next deputy-head of South Africa and we received quite the reaction. So, we took a look at some of the comments the post gathered.
On Wednesday, Briefly.co.za reported on David Mabuza postponing being sworn in as a member of Parliament, while there is a familiar face waiting for her chance to shine.
Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma has already indicated that she would be happy to fill Mabuza's slot; now it's just a question of time to see what happens.
So, we asked our readers who they preferred to be the South African deputy-president, David Mabuza or Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma.
We took a look at some of the comments and found that more people leaned towards Dlamini-Zuma than David Mabuza.
Sbuh Mncube commented: "NDZ she has brains and educated and very consistent with ANC policies."
Halalisani Mkhwanazi added: "Nkosazana Zuma so that the Gender equity will balance."
Siyabonga Mkhize wrote: "Dd Mabuza preferably not Dlamini-Zuma."
Shirley Matsoara Khotle said: "None of these two please, bring Motlanthe back."
However, many revealed they believed neither Dlamini-Zuma nor Mabuza are fit for the position. Some of the other candidates they nominated were Naledi Pandor and Thuli Madonsela.
Tumisi Kgomo commented: "None of the above...I recommend Prof. Thuli Madonsela or Chief Justice Mokgoeng Mokgoeng or Mrs Lindiwe Sisulu."
Joy Blain said: "Neither but my vote goes to Thuli Madonsela."
Susie Snyman wrote: "Lady Pandor, lovely voice... and capable..."
Ntswaki Ndhlovu added: "Non of the above uLindiwe Sisulu she is the right person for this position."
